Scaling for 3 different formats, the design inverts the expected hierarchy of an album, where an artist image is prominent and the production credit is hidden: here, the credit becomes the front cover to emphasise Visconti’s unusually central role. Delicate typography contrasts with bold portraits of Visconti at different moments in his life: printed in shifting silver/grey duotones, when set in sequence they create a gradient that elegantly suggests the passing of time.
